You have to see what Carney can do. Say he doesn’t play. Steve comes back and let’s assume he’s healthy and ready for next year. That would be 3 whole seasons on the bench for Carney. He’s gone and we will never know if he had it or not. He won’t stick around. He’d transfer, probably after this year.  What’s the worst case. You play him and he throws 3 int’s? That’s already happening with the upperclassmen. At least Luke brings 1 threat we know he has and that’s his legs. That right there puts him in a better position to help the offense excel. If he is total fish out of water, you go back to Rickie.

I don’t get why it seems he owes something to whoever the starting QB is. It’s different with Kyle or Steve, who were leaders. It doesn’t seem and it’s basically been said that Rickie isn’t at that point. What’s worse is the body language we’re seeing from other offensive players. That’s a tell in itself and seems to be getting more demonstrative. All i can say is this is going to be a tough last 6 games. There is a lot going on, and none of it positive. We’re really going to see what Fran’s made of these last 6 games and if the culture he is trying to build is more than words.
