Saying now that what you "saw" is that Carney got beat out is bogus. The staff picking Filardi is not synonymous with Carney getting "beaten out."

Somewhere along the way at best the coaches made a strange choice. Carney was #3 to start the year. We saw that get verified when Collins came in for mop up duty, lost his helmet and had to come out for a play, and Carney came in and finished the drive for a TD.

Then when Angeli went down and his name came off the depth chart, it went Collins, Carney, Williams. Carney right there at QB2. Williams seemingly MIA.

So Collins goes 0 and 4, Fran says we're going to open up the QB competition, and in a SHORT WEEK mind you we're supposed to believe that Filardi practiced so well it erased all of the benefit of spring ball Carney had and all of the benefit of whatever practice reps he had as QB3 and then QB2? We're supposed to believe Filardi was that impressive in practice, but seemingly hadn't shown anything like that to this point. And in those mere 4 days of practice ran away with the job?

Or, the staff outsmarted themselves and made a choice without any logic whatsoever behind it. Or if Filardi actually did outshine Carney in that short amount of time, why wasn't the coaching Carney received better at getting him prepared to play?
