Did anyone read Bret Axe's post in the paper today or see his podcast? I don't understand his stance that the SU coaching staff botched and mishandled Carney? Someone please help me understand this. Carney still has his redshirt as long as he doesn't play next week. So much was made of giving him a chance to start and play a complete game against BC. Why did fans not believe that we did not have a better option at QB? We called for Carney, we called for anybody but Ricky. The sad truth, that played out in front of all of our eyes, was that none of the QB's that we put in after Ricky were even close to  being ready to lead a Power 4 team. I know, hard to imagine...but that is the ugly truth and the coaching staff knew that. The only kid we didn't see was Jakari Williams, a Babers recruit that had been here 3 years...and they didn't think he was good enough to win games and actually lost out to Collins in Spring Ball!! The staff went out and got Ricky collins because they knew the QB cupboard was bare..and when Ricky didn't work out...we were toast!
