#3, Rickie could not avoid turnovers.  At THAT point, it does become a "what else do we have? Hey, how about the guy you played at Colgate.  Will he be a turnover machine?"  One does not have to bench a QB to give the other one playing time.  Rickie is our QB, but we are going to get Carney a series or two to see what he can do.  Carney has yet to look great, but he has yet to turn the ball over either.  He got some first downs against Pitt and did not turn the ball over.  The smart thing to do against UNC was to start Carney and go to Collins if/when Carney stalled. The dumb thing to do was start Filardi and waste the whole game, except for one Carney drive--which should have been Collins.  I am not sure how it could have been handled worse. And Collins should have started against ND, with the plan to give Filardi PT if/when the game was settled. And then the same for BC with Carney and/or Filardi.  This is not rocket science.  It's how competent coaches do things.
