Mac Jones connection to SU Basketball????

Just read that the middle name of Mac Jones, the Alabama now Patriots QB, is McCorkle, as in former SU hooper Scott McCorkle. His full name is Michael McCorkle Jones, and the middle name is his mom's maiden name. I did a quick search to see if I could find a connection between them but couldn't find it. McCorkle apparently is Scott's adoptive father's last name, and now he goes more by his birth name of Scott Lundeen. Any idea if Scott and Mac are somehow related?

For those who don't remember, Scott was a nice backup/role playing 2-3 with a decent shot. Part of the Southern California pipeline of the late 80s-early 90s.

That's interesting. I have never, not once, heard a peep out of Scott McCorkle since he left campus and I take a cursory interest in these guys lives after they leave campus. Now I might know why.

McCorkle was a 6-5(ish) small forward that struggled with quickness. But he hung in there, made some shots and got real minutes. Up and down career. In modern times, he would've left on his own accord or potentially been run off after his second season. He's the type of player that Boeheim is looking for to finish off this year's roster (a 9th man, gets 8-12 min/game on average).
