That would be pretty earth shattering down here in Georgia. He is an absolute fixture.
A 9-3 fixture with 12-0 talent

Dear Coach Richt,
How do you feel about snow, coneys, buffalo wings, a dome and Genny Cream Ale?
On board? Great. We'll take nine wins a year and leave you alone.
Thanks.
Here's the thing- Richt has always feasted on the 3 weak teams in the SEC East. He's a .500 coach lifetime against ranked teams. He is 5-11 lifetime against Florida. He is 3-3 in conference play this year. Even if he wins the next 4 games he is probably done, if he gets that far.
He has better recruits than 95% of college football teams but he has a 75% winning percentage. He would never be a 75% winning percentage coach at SU because he can't win without a clear talent advantage.
Florida and LSU have a lock on better in-state talent, as does Alabama and they have Saban. Given his neighborhood Richt does ok and he's not a sleaze. Each year, Georgia is almost as good as Florida, Alabama and LSU.
If we ever get good again, we'll be complaining about the same things.
After California, Texas, and Florida the high school football from the state of Georgia is elite. The athletes that came out of GA HS FB is great. Ohio, Penn, NJ and other states are good but GA with population shifts is elite.
Richt is a good coach but he has left a little on the table. They had the 2nd best team in 2008 but because of a bad loss didn't play for the NC and 2012 SEC title game vs. Bama came down to the last minute. Richt may go to another job before he gets fired. Kirby Smart or Mike Bobo would be my guess as the next UGA HC.
Don't think Richt is a great fit at Miami and Fuentes kind of reminds me of that Florida Gulf Coast bball coach who has pretty much flamed out at USC.Those other states all have more instate competition than UGA. LSU is the only other SEC team with as great an in-state advantage as Georgia.
Richt to Miami would be interesting but I think Miami will go hard after Justin Fuentes.

Fully agree on your last point. RichRod would be great too.I'm not saying it's a great fit I just think that's who they go after.
If Miami hired the right coach the sky would be the limit. Imagine Urban Meyer or Chip Kelly at the U.
The problem is that there is 3teams in his division that has talent better than 97% of the teams in the country right nowHere's the thing- Richt has always feasted on the 3 weak teams in the SEC East.
