Sounds like he is hell bent on getting something to come out of this. Have to believe his reputation as a journalist is clearly on the line here if these accusations prove false. Wondering if ESPN also feels this way.

ESPN is airing this and this is not an "infomercial " so ESPN better be prepared to defined this IF proven false.

I watched Schwartz last night on ESPN ... they did a telephone interview. His presentation was far from unbiased and neutral ... I thought, what an a$$hole ... as the story went he had already decided that Bernie was guilty on all counts ... but I do not think that it had anything to do with the "victims" who he continually portrayed as "poor little boy". He seemed more like a dog with a bone ... after the PSU scandal "I have something here that can make my career" ... bad, bad Schwartz and very, very poor journalism ... I expected him to break out crying during the interview.

Hes acting like Davis' lawyer on Mike & Mike. Greeny and Golic didnt seem to be buying it and Schwarz went attack mode bringing up how "Lang and Davis barely talk to each other" and "Boeheim would give Davis a look when he saw him in a hotel room" A look, really a &^%ing look. Im sorry, this story is bs. #cashgrab

I watched it last night after the Va Tech game and again this morning and, interestingly, Schwartz changed his tone while eliminating much of his sensationalism and hyperbole in introducing the story and in particular, the accused.

The 2nd version (the one with snow flurries) sounded to me as if someone at ESPN legal said, "What are you doing... Tone it down, bub."

Wait. What happened on mike and mike? Damn. I missed it!

From the PS:

After The Post-Standard told Davis in 2003 that it did not plan at that time to publish a story about him, Davis contacted ESPN’s “Outside the Lines.” ESPN investigated Davis’ allegations in 2003 and opted not to broadcast a story about Fine, the network reported Thursday.

In the wake of a sex abuse scandal at Penn State, ESPN said it interviewed Davis. Thursday evening, ESPN broadcast a story about Davis and Fine after a second victim – identified by ESPN as Davis’ step-brother — alleged that Fine had molested him. Shortly after that, Syracuse police confirmed they were investigating child molestation allegations against Fine.

somewhere Mel Brooks is laughing that a guy named Schwartz is all over this story

I've already expressed my feelings about Schwartz ... so let me say this about ESPN. "The PSU scandal was a big story and we got a lot of coverage on it ...how can we keep it going? Hey wasn't there this kid back in 2003 that came knocking about some abuse situation? Wow... if we can get a bunch of schools accused of abuse we can keep this story going forever. Hey do we have somebody that is really, really stupid and hungry because they've done nothing else with their careers? Schwartz? Schwartz? Who the Hell is Schwartz? OK... send him out and get that story."

ESPN news is becoming less journalism and more tattle tale, sensationalistic pablum for the masses.
