marketing.. what is lacking

a few years ago SU did a survey of season ticket holders looking for ideas to help promote the team. I remember we got a short spot on the survey for ideas.. I sent in roughly 20 ideas on my own paper I included with my survey and over the next few years half a dozen of my ideas appeared. I can think of many ideas they still have not implemented. Dr Gross has been great at responding so I think its time again to try to help promote the team..

anyone got some thoughts?

There are so many simple fixes that would cost ZERO DOLLARS that would enhance things, but I have given up. They simply don't get it up there.

Thoughts on why the rest of your ideas are collecting dusts? Thoughts on other ideas? Thoughts on we only see subpar output?

Could spend a while talking about this, but I'll keep it at this for now: I don't know of any college athletic programs that are marketing gangbusters. It's easy to promote Alabama football; less so Maine basketball (sorry, Maine). Doesn't mean SU should get a pass, but the nature of academia is such that marketing/branding is not just misunderstood...it's very often looked down upon.

they need help. if nothing else we should be seeing ideas that didn't work, instead we get no plans at all. maybe they dont want to fail so dont try? maybe they dont want to spend money? maybe they just cant come up with ideas? they want money.. create some perks that generate money that cost very little to implement..

just because schools are not good at this doesnt mean SU should try to be as well.
