imho this defense would be light years ahead of were it is if shafer was dc -or at least had his own shafer

we always had a swagger with him as dc - team always wanted to kick you in the balls -
under our new dc we play scared and passive- they dont play like animals anymore

we never had the stars when shafer was dc but played like we did- now its a excuse of why we play so poorly- this is every bit a robinson defense -constant missed assignments and blown coverage

The same plays happened with Marrone and Shafer...difference was in the Big East brining the heat to BJ Daniels and whomever on Rutgers usually led to incomplete passes. Clemson is a different beast.
