Good interview, I can't give too many specifics, work was getting in the way. Sounded like much of it was covered in what he said on the radio show last night (Nassib check down story, Sandy impact on players). Then just some other info that matched the Rahme preparation article from this morning.

But Brando's praise for him was the most interesting part. Just saying how great a job he is doing at Syracuse, changing the culture. That it's one of the better stories in college football. How it's under the radar right now, but should be a more nationally recognized story next year, especially as we move to the ACC. Brando also talked about how tough a game we have in front of us tomorrow, which Marrone agreed. Then later Brando called it a knockout interview.

Good press for a Friday.

Wait...but we should fire HCDM, right?

If we give up a 60 yard drive to start tomorrow's game that leads to a FG, then yes, probably. Or at least fire Shafer.

Being nowhere near your computer, or Tapatalk apps, during a game is so therapeutic.

Nassib check down story?

Nassib check down story?

From SWC's writeup. Marrone told this one again on Brando when discussing Nassib, probably not word for word.

“There are two plays in recent games that illustrate Ryan’s increasing maturity. Against Connecticut, we had a 3rd and 10 or 12. The play was supposed to go long but was covered and he checked down to a 6-7 yard pass. We got a field goal out of it. In the past, he would have thrown long anyway and gotten an incompletion or interception.

Is Jim Tressel or Bobby Petrino still available? Donks.
Crickets...from all the naysayers. Amazing what a couple of wins can do to filter out the pretenders.

You're right. It's amazing what a little fire under the arse can do. Fact is the naysayers, myself included, were down on the staff for the mistakes all over the field. Pretty sure I even mentioned the one mistake free game we played, against Pitt, was a good win. Amazingly, the team stopped committing 10 penalties a game, handing the ball over to the other team, and shooting themselves in the foot every other drive. Ultimately it's on the staff to address those issues with the team. The fact that they did and actually got the team to clean up it's act has led us from 1-3 to 4-4 with a legit chance at a bowl and an outside chance at the BE title. Kudos to the staff and players for getting it together. When we don't play like keystone cops this team is actually pretty decent. Now maybe that's the reason some of us were so upset, because we saw the talent was good enough to compete, but also saw that the team wasn't disciplined enough to not lose football games. When SU drops a game because we simply got our tails whipped then it's alot easier to swallow than watching us fumble and jump offsides all day like in Jersey this year. FWIW, that game may cost us a bowl or BE title when it comes down to it.

Just wait.

They will be back.

And you know who they are.

Brando got to know Marrone during the Ga Tech years. He clearly as great regard for Doug.

Ironically a mistake prone loss to Rutgers last year cost us a bowl. Hopefully it's not déjà vu.

surprised no one mentioned Doug stated that internal team dynamics (locker room) was a cause to last years spiral

We already knew that even if a few denied it.
