During last night's telecast Marv Albert accussed Celtics manangement of pumping in crowd noises.

He pointed out that when Melo got the ball most of the boos were electronic.

He said the Celtic's have been pumping in crowd noises for years and it sounds unnatural.

You can hear some of what Marv said and a discussion on Boomer & Carton about this issue

What a very Red Auerbach move by the C's, if true.

Lame, I liked the C's until they let Kris go, no I hate them, again.

I heard them talking about it last night, Marv really got into it. And I will say he definitely got a lot louder whenever Melo got the ball...either the Celtics really really hate Melo or they we pumping in more noise.

Hahahah you know your big time when they pump in boos every time you get a touch.

I thought this might wind up with Melo having the Celts under his skin and them getting tge best of the Knicks but this shows it just may be the opposite.

It was odd. I wasn't really paying attention until Marv made those impassioned comments, but when i listened, it really did sound unnatural. There was almost like a phase shift/flanging effect. I know little about audio, but would that happen if the microphones were picking up audio from speakers?

Whatever. I'm sure it's done elsewhere, but it seems particularly silly to need it in Boston. Against the Knicks. Charlotte, maybe.
