Guess it depends who plays for CMU.Kansas opens at -4 vs CMu
FSU -22 vs clemson
Interesting -- Edsall was complaining after their game this week on how terrible it was playing a fast paced team. Hopefully he has trouble with us too.
There's going to be a lot of room for our WRs to run free. Hope we can take advantage.
This game could be a shootout. I think pick 'em is appropriate. It's a toss up. One that both teams really need to win.
I'd like to see a WR post the most reception yards this week (as opposed to the H-back). Maybe more reps for SI will do the trick. And no offense to AB ... who played well. I just think we need to stretch the field and to do that we need a credible down-field threat. There's going to be a lot of room for our WRs to run free. Hope we can take advantage.

Estime was explosive last year. This year I haven't seen much from him. Broyld looks good. He can catch it in traffic and make plays. Once in a while we can run him deep. But we still need production from our wideouts and, for whatever reason, they haven't been a serious threat -- especially on the deep ball -- for at least the past 2 years. There are some flashes this year ... Cornelius had a nice catch against CMU for example. But our presumptive starting WR's coming out of the spring -- Flemming and West -- combined for 1 catch. Add in Lewis and Ishmael (supposedly backups) and the total receptions for all wide receivers was 4 -- for the entire game. West disappeared against CMU, and I do think it was appropriate to move SI up. Let's see how he does. But I think our best downfield threat is one of the H-backs. Estime. Although, to me, he just doesn't look as explosive as last year, guessing that's either because he hasn't had a play in space to show it, or because the ankle is still healing.
Otherwise, while we have depth at the position, I'm not sure we have a lot of burners yet. Ishmael was hailed as that in practices, but during recruiting I recall people thinking of him more as a possession guy. Kobena has the wheels, but given where he's ended up on the depth chart, he likely has a lot of other issues (on the field related, like consistency, hands, blocking, whatever it may be.).

But the H=back position, while important, is not WR. WR is a vital skill position and our guys are, for whatever reason, not getting it done for at least the past 2 years. In the future, with continued losses to our WR recruits (KJ Williams being the most prominent), until the staff pulls in some serious talent, the WR issue -- and it is an issue == will continue to plague us.
Hope you're right -- I like your enthusiasm.I'm not giving up on the unit so soon. The freshman are going to be very good and are serious talent.
Estime had a good game (TD catch).
