Matt Campbell (Toledo)

I apologize in advance if he's already been discussed in one of the +20 threads we have already on the coaching change.

As others have said, I assume that Mark Coyle already had his short list that none of us are privy to when he made the move, so most of this discussion is probably moot and just for fun.

Matt Campbell signed an extention to 2020 at Toledo last year, but he's a young and very successful coach so far in his career.

He's from Ohio and played at the very successful Mount Union program. He's been a successful D1 offensive coordinator, a highly rated recruiter, and now has a few years as a very successful head coach (35-14 currently, 2-1 in bowl games).

I have no idea if he would be interested in leaving Toledo for a P5 job at Syracuse or any other school, but thought he is an intersting candidate so I'm throwing it out there.

Yes, he has been tossed around for over a month and he is one of my personal favorites, if not the favorite.

I like the fact he is young, has a creative offense and wins big games.

Him being from Ohio helps on the recruiting trail, too.

He is clearly one of the hot names out there, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him stick around at Toledo. He seems very content there.
