He's got a nasty streak that others have mentioned, which is something more guys could use; people who enforce their will on a game, and make THE PLAY. That team with Mookie Watkins and Demetris Nichols finally blossomed after Gerry's big shadow was gone, and I thought those guys did well, overall. I think it was all the injuries that hit them (and Josh Wright ...) that prevented them from ever getting into a groove, but that was a solid defensive team for us, probably our best in the 2000's until the AO 2010 team.  With all the injuries, though, they just couldn't score consistently, apart from Nichols, who had a great senior year.

Anyway, back to our new young man, Doctor Matt - I mean my comparison to Roberts from when TRob was at St. Anthony's.  A mobile lanky guy, with long reach.  Athletic like Doctor Matt, good on the second bounce, defends with attitude, has that scowl-face that I like to see from my inside players.  This is not just a finesse guy.

Our current man, Mr. Estonian Double-Double Machine, has that in him too and has to let it out more this year.  You don't have to be quite so nice between the white lines.
