Maurice Creek of IU

yes. guard depth is without question our weakest area.

if we had MCW or Triche returning, we are prob the preseason #2 team

cant imagine he would leave IU because of playing time would transfer to a school to be a back up

Was getting almost nothing at IU... 1-2 minutes in big games, 8 overall. May not be able to play 30 minutes physically, but we might have 15 or so available. Could be perfect.

I would be wary, 2 serious knee injuries and never really got over the first one, when the second one happened. Oladipo leaving and this guy transferring kind of says it all. IU's guard situation is worse than ours by far.

Maybe, but the reason I kinda like the idea (from our end, zero idea if he'd have any interest in cuse) would be because he only has one year of eligability left so its not like we're making a commitment to him that could take a scholly away from a future recruit that could help us. Upside would be a 6'5 PG with talent finally gets healthy and gives us real backcourt depth. Downside? He turns out to be a shell we can't even put in for a few minutes per game and he rides the bench a year before someone takes his spot in 14. At worst, we're in the same spot we are now.

I'm to lazy to do the work, but do we even have open scholly's? Triche, Southerland, MCW gone. Insert Roberson, Ennis, Buss, BJ.

I'll pass. Basically damaged goods, who can only play the SG spot(he's not a PG). We need a guard who can handle the rock and play some point.

Ahhh that makes a huge difference. ESPN listed him as a PG... we have all the SGs we need.

Agreed. Creek was a fairly highly rated recruit who went to IU at their low point and led them in scoring as a freshman, but then sustained a bunch of knee injuries that totally derailed his career. He's been a bit player ever since.

If we have a need, it is for a backup PG / combo guard who can handle the point.

1. CJ - SR
2. BMK - SR
3. Rak - JR
4. Cooney - RSO
5. Gbinije - RSO
6. Grant - SO
7. Coleman - SO
8. Ennis - FR
9. Roberson - FR
10. Buss - FR
11. Johnson - FR
12. Chino - FR

Am I forgetting anyone? That's one open scholarship right there. And now that I look at it, that's also one absurdly young team.

No thats right... MCW leaving leaves one spot. I'd love to find a decent transfer PG, who can play immediately, has only one year of eligability left, and a little size. If Francis is right and Creek is a SG he's not it... but I hope theres one out there that would want one more shot with a title contender.

Didn't see where they listed him as a PG. They just have him as a G, and called him an injury prone guard in the first sentence(not sure if you were confused by that). He expressed some interest in SU coming out of HS, but feelings weren't mutual. He was a good scorer with a nice outside shot when I saw him play before the injuries, but PG he was not. I think a low D1 school would probably be the best fit for him at this point.

It wasn't in the article I linked to... the Tweet that first led me to the article refered to him as an injury prone pg. But since he's not... do you know of anyone even possible that WOULD fit that bill Francis?

Outside of Kane(who might have some issues), I don't currently see any quality one year options out there. I guess we'll have to pray that either Mike G or Buss can handle the job manny.png .

point guard go with two shooting guards in cooney and Gbinije. I like scoring.

Thanks. Man I didn't realize how young we were. If CJ left we'd have no scorers older than a sophomore. Crazy.
