Yea I realize there are different analysts, even that seems low for me . He is one spot ahead of the IU kid…… they are not close . Interesting that you have to be a playoff team to be on the list minus Sanders . ( Bama to )

He’s not going in the first two rounds. If he has a 3rd or 4th grade he should go. After that probably better of coming back.
Definitely not this year, but maybe next. Only if he repeats the passing yards, reduces the ints, & carries us to a better than expected win total. In my opinion.

Either way, I hope he gets the chance make the choice.

I read a different story today that claims according to one analyst, a bunch of NFL teams don't even have a first round grade on Sanders. There's so much inaccurate information out there about the draft and the early media speculation isn't always right. Also Mel Kiper is clueless these days with a bad accuracy rate.

The "smarter" analysts seem to have Kyle in the 6-10 range in terms of QB rankings and placing him anywhere from third round to undrafted based on the litany of mock drafts I've looked at (there's an aggregator here - warning a lot are terrible but I still think it's helpful).

If he has a chance of going in the third round, I think he should take it. In November, someone from the program told me the intel they had received had Kyle going more in the 5th to 7th round. if that's still the case, he should stay (if he can).

Just for fun, if he had been invited back to Ohio State and
won the national championship with them (entirely feasible),
what would his draft status be right now? Being at a high profile
program would have been a huge upside, even if his basic
skill set was the same.

Glad he came to SU and he had a great experience, but the
alternative regarding his NFL status would be very different.

I don’t agree with the list but the people ranking QBs Look at our competition. I’m not sure we saw a great defense all year. Even the best teams we played this year their main issue was pass defense which we exploited.

These guys making lists make their way by catering to what people think and making safe choices. Not by picking QBs from schools that haven’t been relevant in 30 years.

When did we move on from JLH?

To be fair to us, the teams all played us, and we are a good passing offense, and did a lot of things, the other teams they played simply couldn’t do to them.

Well all it takes is one team having a first round grade on Sanders and needing a QB. Or having a second round grade and a late first round pick and needing a QB, while knowing he won't get to their 2nd rounder.

I assume there are a handful of teams that would put a 2nd or 3rd round grade on Kyle, but don't need a QB and thus would only take him if he fell beyond that. These are the well run franchises that ignore the media narrative, and aren't afraid to make a pick that everyone criticizes.

The average number of qb's drafted the last 5 years is 11.4. The highest I have seen Kyle ranked is 7th with the average ranking at 9.6 from 5 different ranking entities. That said the experts are wrong as much as they are right. Late round or undrafted guys can be stars and high picks can be busts. Ratings and rankings are like choosing ice cream lol.

I wonder if he had 3 less interceptions in the Pitt game & we had even an average STs & beat say Stanford, what his draft stock would be?

Other than the pick-6 vs Stanford
- which was 100% Villari’s fault for running the wrong route, and utterly gift-wrapping that one for the defender,
Kyle had a great game.

It’s the Pitt game that really mars his record this season.

You can’t just ignore FIVE INTs -
of which THREE were pick-6’s.

It’s a shame that one horrid game is overshadowing the other 12 great ones, but it does seem like this may be the case.

It didn't help that the Pitt game was the only CFB game on that night and Pitt was ranked. Lots of eyes on that game.

How many INT's did he throw after the Pitt game?

How effin ridiculous is this (sorry, if already posted elsewhere.). Not even in the mix, behind the guy who blew his elbow out and will need surgery, and who knows how that’s gonna turn out, and behind another guy at Notre Dame that can barely throw his way out of a paper bag.

I mean, I guess the upside is, this is potentially good for us, with a return here for a banner potentially historic redshirt senior season.
