McCord

It was just a photo of McCord and teammates (edit: players def not coming back like Diggs/Wax etc) with a caption “dialing it up one last time”.

I think they just meant as a team like in last game of the year. But probably not the thread for nuance either way.
That’s how I took it.

Sarcasm radar going through the roof here. Well done.
Thank you. The more I think about it, if they were competent they would and should be off right now. The winter portal is 12/9 to 12/28? They should have a deadline of 12/1 to request a waiver/appeal, and rule on all of them by 12/8.

They're a joke on two levels, first that they don't get this stuff done at least in the front half of the portal window and then that they go home for an extended holiday break with it all pending.

Remember Gus Edwards? He wanted to come to SU but the rule gave Miami the option to deny it because they were playing SU that year I believe? That stunk and they changed that rule sometime after.

Back then you had to sit out a year after transferring.

Gus applied for a hardship waiver to play immediately on the grounds that he had a family emergency and had to transfer closer to his home.

Miami agreed to the waiver under the condition that Gus couldn't transfer to a school on Miami's 2017 schedule.

they might have a 1000 waivers for all we know.

In any case how much time do you want them to spend looking into these things? Even if most take and hr or 2 to review and there are only 50 that still takes time.

How many people do you dedicate to handle waivers ? Maybe they only have 2-3 to or 9-10 who knows.

One would think enough to handle the fallout from their own silly rules.

Problem is, the NCAA isn't just a cartel. They're an incompetent cartel.
It really is impressive how they ceded so much decision making.

They could have found solutions.

Instead they were content to live with inconsistent rules that couldn't hold up to legal challenges.

So now they get to work within a rules framework imposed upon them.

Smart.

Imagine the stupidest Athletic Director you know and then multiply that by 500 and have them all work with each other. That's what we're dealing with.

We had zero running game in 2017, could have used him in all those close losses we had(before Dungey was gone then the losses were blowouts). Blake James, I will see you in hell

Technically they already turned down the waiver and we're now waiting on an appeal.

Fool me once...

I am not too confident that it will be granted (no inside info). I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Right. In their mind they have issued a ruling, so why would they have a sense of urgency to rule again?

Unless there is something unique and extenuating about Kyle’s situation i don’t know why the NCAA would give him another year. Seems like it would open the floodgates for every senior to send in a waiver.

Lawsuit and damages. A missed year of NIL because they’re sitting on it.
It makes no sense for Kyle to file a lawsuit when he can still go make money in the NFL. If it drags he's gone.

Huh? His NIL earning opportunity is a sure thing, his NFL earning opportunity is not. In fact most are saying he will make significantly less next year in the NFL. He can push this so long as he has time before the draft.

Penny in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.

That’s a mixed metaphor but also not correct. How is NIL a bird in the hand when he doesn’t even know if he would be able to play another year? If anything the NFL money is the bird in hand.
