Well the tax man doesn’t lie. He knows what he made this year and he knows what he’ll likely get for next year in the NCAA.Would be tough for them to actually provide the real numbers of these deals to prove it.

The two cases you just brought up are not verifiable. They are for 2025.Well the tax man doesn’t lie. He knows what he made this year and he knows what he’ll likely get for next year in the NCAA.
I'd be as happy as anyone on this board if he comes back but the wacky scenarios people are inventing in their heads aren't reality based.Agreed but some have played devils advocate so adamantly that it makes me wonder.
Taulia was denied for a 6th year. Also saying what the NCAA did a year or 2 or 5 years ago as a basis for what they will do today is actually the whacky scenario.I'd be as happy as anyone on this board if he comes back but the wacky scenarios people are inventing in their heads aren't reality based.
We know multiple facts:
-McCord's waiver was denied
-McCord appealed
-McCord played 5 games at OSU one season which means he has played 4 college seasons
-McCord can go to the NFL and get on a team and make money in 2025
-Last year, in the same situation, Taulia Tagavailoa's waiver was denied.
-The NCAA has never ruled favorably towards SU
I'm not trying to set myself up to be disappointed.

So should someone be able to remain eligible as long as he could make money? 6 years, 7, why not 10. There has to be some limit, and there will always be someone claiming to be screwed by that limit.Sorry I got the lawsuit thing going.
Just to add and we know Kyle isn’t going to play anywhere else but the NIL market value for a top QB right now is in the millions. Mensah 4 mil and Mateer is at 2.7. McCord would be in that range or higher as the leagues top passer returning.
Cuse will get Kyle for much less than that but that’s not the point. The NCAA is costing him the 2-4 Mil for a lost season.

It’s posts like this that are really annoying. It’s like 3 facts mixed in with 3 opinions and then you’re like see I’m the one being realistic.
2020 does not count. He had all the facts right. It's literally an identical situation, in fact Taulia took a lot less snaps in his 5th game than McCord did. Given the facts we know about Taulia had a slightly better case for getting an extra year than McCord does.Taulia was denied for a 6th year. NCAA hasn’t technically lost yet on the JUCO thing, but there is more of an argument there given the nature of the competition at that level.the Juco thing has been an issue they denied for 30 yrs as well. Lots of rulings make no sense. Some kids get 5-6-7-8-9 yrs . In theory you could play 4 10x and keep getting waivers in this new system.
Much easier to just flat out say 5 yrs and eliminate waivers completely.
-Last year, in the same situation, Taulia Tagavailoa's waiver was denied.
I continue to think of NCAA grants the appeal, it will be based on 5-5 looming. That’s not a great argument, but it does evoke fairness.

Taulia played football games starting in 2019-2023. Thats 5 years. He asked for a 6th year. You are arguing NCAA rules. He also had two games where he did not record a stat. His claim was this caused Saban and staff to not realize that he had played in 4 games when they put him in for the 5th game. Kyle clearly played in 4 games prior to his 5th game.
2020 did not count as a year of eligibility as some schools did not play football. I don't understand what you aren't getting about that.Taulia played football games starting in 2019-2023. Thats 5 years. He asked for a 6th year. You are arguing NCAA rules.
I’m just Counting the years and I’m telling you Kyle played 4 years of football. Just because you don’t like it 5 years is not identical to 4.
They were granted an additional year. Not really not counting that year.2020 did not count as a year of eligibility as some schools did not play football. I don't understand what you aren't getting about that.
Is that guaranteed money? From Pro Football Network:
"Every NFL undrafted free agent is required to sign a three-year contract with league-minimum salaries in each season. Over the next three years, those salaries will be $795,000, $960,000, and $1.075 million."
They have Jonre Reed in the pic as well. So id take it with a grain of saltLooks like that’s it.
Social teams know what's going on, and what they can and cannot say.I question if the social media team even knows as much as we do.
They work hard and are good at what they do. But what they do is promotion and marketing as opposed to sports journalism.
Of course. But it’s not exactly a media embargo that Kyle is a senior out of elligibilty.Social teams know what's going on, and what they can and cannot say.
Our social team (red bulls) had a list of players to use in promotional materials that were "safe" so they didn't have to worry about having to change them halfway through the year if we sold a player. They also had a list of 50/50 ones and ones that were most likely gone.
But it's also a bit much to say this board knows more than the staff knows.Of course. But it’s not exactly a media embargo that Kyle is a senior out of elligibilty.
I doubt such a list would include any info about a pending appeal other than “no comment,” the line we’ve been hearing repeatedly.
