Much has been said about Michigan s vulnerability due to lack of height but little has been said about another achilles heel; no replacement for McGary. We should work to get him in foul trouble. Rak and Baye trying a bit more O than usual. We have almost an unlimited number of fouls to give at the center position. lets exploit this advantage. If he is gone CJ can have a field day.

Florida spent the first half trying to attack Michigan's post D. I think we should continue the high ball screens and make their defense make a decision when MCW and Triche drive. We get our points in the paint a number of ways from the guards driving in, dump offs, PNR and then CJ doing his thing. I see no reason to change that unless Michigan can stop it.

One thing we haven't done lately is the alley-oop off a backscreen to one of our forwards in a set play. Outside of McGary, UM is small up front. It could be effective once or twice.

there could be one big reason to refocus on attacking the hoop. if refs are calling it tight we have a ton of fouls to give at the 5 but just a couple of early fouls on McGary gives the game to us. Strategy is all about identifying opportunities and exploiting them. For eg., we faced midget Indiana guards, so we posted them up.

they don't really have a bench period

Refs will not call the game tight - It's the final four! McGary will not get into serious foul trouble - it's the final four! Everyone in the country including the refs want to see these kids play, so if they get into any difficulty, the refs will back off.

John Wallace disagrees with you.

Good point, but I still think no official wants to be known as the guy that sat Mitch McGary down in the final four. Obvious fouls will be called but for the most part, everyone including the officials want the two teams to play unimpeded.

Cuse does not have a ton of fouls at the 5 to give because DC is not going to play. Only in the event of real trouble will we see him. Also, often when you try to get someone in foul trouble its you who commits the fouls.

If John Cahill is reffing our game tomorrow (which I would be surprised) he could care less what fouls he calls. I'm thinking the NCAA is saving Cahill for Monday, but you never know.

To be fair, I think both Morgan and Horford are decent backup bigs

I agree, while Michigan doesn't have a bench, there aren't a lot of backup bigs better then Morgan.

Now, Syracuse does have one with the way Keita has played lately.

If I am Michigan, I am not as concerned with McGary getting in foul trouble as I am every single other player on the floor b/c those guys really don't have a backup.
