MCW is a great case study in why we as fans need to be patient with players and let them develop. He has had the size and athleticism all season. What he needed was more reps and experience to allow his understanding of the game to germinate and his fundamentals become more "natural."
This began coming to fruition in the Big East Tourney--he was directing traffic on offense, showing his full command of what should be happening and his leadership in getting the others to follow his commands. He has demonstrated this even more the past four games. Likewise, he started to be a defensive catalyst in the BET, and he has been a stud on that end of the floor in the NCAAs, especially the last two games.
In short, MCW has made mistakes this year, and they are, in part, why he is playing so well now. I applaud him for learning from them and working to get better throughout the season. He really is a solid player.
