I didn't really see where he did anything to get pulled after his 2 minute stint. Other guards were not playing well, so I did not understand why he didn't get more of a first half run after the way he played in his last game.

Hard to get him in in the 2nd half in this type of a game.

JB just doesn't trust him in a close game. Plus GTown does such a good job against the zone that we couldn't afford any weak links in the zone, JB mighta been worried about that too.

In the last 10min if Triche is injured and Scoop is Scoopid why not play MCW? Scoopkept Gtown in the game in the last 7min IMO.

You're seriously proposing he pull a senior in favor of a true- who has played a total of 246 mins. his entire college career?

yes completely! Re-watch and look at all the problems Scoop caused, Including a TO by himself when we had momentum in the back-court. Scoop was the main reason we didn't win in regulation from what I saw. I'd prefer Triche but Scoop was so bad and Triche sat that I must asume he was injured.

Not gonna play a freshman in a game like this, especially with Jardine playing well in the second half. Same for Christmas. Was really impressed with the freshman forward for Georgetown. Shows that rankings don't mean much. Georgetown kid was ranked in the 40s, Christmas was a McDonalds all american and ranked in the low 20s.

As I stated in an earlier thread to the dismay of some naive and unknowledgable doubters, MCW is not yet ready. Yes he had a nice game against the glorified high school team AKA St John's. So what. He will be a nice player someday. But clearly, he is not ready for games like Gtown and Louisville. And he likely won't be ready to be a PG that can play 30-35 mins/game next year and have us contend.

This only serves to prove the point that, accordingly, we need another PG for next year as an alternative if we are to contend again.

Am I missing something? Aside from the turnover in the backcourt what did scoop do that has people ripping him? He had some huge assists down the stretch.

His play on the winning 3 by Joseph was brilliant. Beat his man off the dribble, FROZE the defense with a look to Melo, then found the wide open KJ RIGHT IN RHYTHM.

Very, very nice.

He only had to make that play because he kept Gtown in the game down the stretch multiple times. Brilliance would have been winning the game in regular time like by not turning it over in the backcourt when we had the lad and momentum.

The guy made a great play on that turnover. It wasn't a stupid pass just a hidden telegraphed one. Rare moment.

We outscored gtown by 5 in the second half. At one point we were up by 7 I think. That means outscoring them by 13.
Whats his name hit some three guarded tight with a hand in his face. Scoop helped our ball movement big time today.
We just let them play their game in the first half for to long.

IMO Triche was pretty awesome in the first half. He had 7 points 3 rebounds 2 assists a steal and didn't foul today. He was only 1-4 from three other then that he was solid. Triche got put in and we went on a run in the first half. We needed him and he stepped up.

Eight assists and four turnovers and the winning play against a VERY motivated Gtown team. Perfect? No. But thank God we have him, and he will be SORELY missed next year.

Not sure how many of you were in the chat but the Bad Scoop calls were prevalent. Scoop had his share of What plays but so did everyone else outside of KJo and Fab. Fair just did not play well offensively, but he did manage to rebound some. DW was also absent with some What shots. We played well when we penetrated and dished out, and Scoop and to a much less extend DW, did that. It was just a terrible effort on the boards, offensive end and the team also had defensive lapses - I HATED that GT passed around the perimeter only to pass to the paint and get a good look at the basket, they had good success with that set way too often.

There are quite a few posters on the Bad Scoop/Good Scoop bandwagon, Scoop is Scoop and I don't see Triche or Dion doing what Jardine does to run the offense, who would you rather have in there that has shown this year that they can run the offense better? I just don't see a clear advantage for the other guards to play point with this team when our offense is sputtering.

The game was close throughout, and I can't help but think we are so spoiled with our success that we are disappointed when we don't crush the #11 team, and especially, putting the blame of a win (yes, a WIN) of an ugly game on Scoop. Go figure. Just for the record, I would have loved to have crushed Georgetown in this game, but I will take this win and hope the team gets focused for the home stretch and play with more consistency.

We just haven't played well in the last few weeks. BE teams know how to play against our zone and we will be forced to play half-court offense and we've been very poor at this all year. Therefore, I am happy with this win, especially because we could have so easily lost this game.

Sorry for all the rambling and scattered thoughts. Cold medicine and beer don't pull a ginko biloba on my brain.

You usually make pretty perceptive posts. This is not one of them.

He did make a bad pass in the backcourt, but I think you're going a little overboard on Scoop here.
