Not sure how many of you were in the chat but the Bad Scoop calls were prevalent. Scoop had his share of What plays but so did everyone else outside of KJo and Fab. Fair just did not play well offensively, but he did manage to rebound some. DW was also absent with some What shots. We played well when we penetrated and dished out, and Scoop and to a much less extend DW, did that. It was just a terrible effort on the boards, offensive end and the team also had defensive lapses - I HATED that GT passed around the perimeter only to pass to the paint and get a good look at the basket, they had good success with that set way too often.
There are quite a few posters on the Bad Scoop/Good Scoop bandwagon, Scoop is Scoop and I don't see Triche or Dion doing what Jardine does to run the offense, who would you rather have in there that has shown this year that they can run the offense better? I just don't see a clear advantage for the other guards to play point with this team when our offense is sputtering.
The game was close throughout, and I can't help but think we are so spoiled with our success that we are disappointed when we don't crush the #11 team, and especially, putting the blame of a win (yes, a WIN) of an ugly game on Scoop. Go figure. Just for the record, I would have loved to have crushed Georgetown in this game, but I will take this win and hope the team gets focused for the home stretch and play with more consistency.
We just haven't played well in the last few weeks. BE teams know how to play against our zone and we will be forced to play half-court offense and we've been very poor at this all year. Therefore, I am happy with this win, especially because we could have so easily lost this game.
Sorry for all the rambling and scattered thoughts. Cold medicine and beer don't pull a ginko biloba on my brain.
