And by no means am I suggesting we are gonna lose, but just making the general comment. This is probably obvious to most, but I think we are much, much better than people thought. (and a lot of that is due to Lydon). The national media is noticing too. Saw a tweet by Jon Rothstein that we are sneaky good nationally and very underated. Saw some kind words by Seth Davis too. And obviously you know Bilas loves us--he has had our back the last 2 days during the telecasts. With Texas A&M already ranked, and now taking down #10 Gonzaga, I figure a close loss tomorrow shouldn't hurt the new perception, thus, a ranking in top-25. But if we win, thinking we'll jump some teams and be in the teens.

Watched the game with my Dad and brother after the family got back from dinner -- made it all the way through on a 2 hour delay without hearing the score and boy, was that enjoyable!!! Best Thanksgiving ever!! (it didn't hurt that the Eagles and Cowboys both lost as well...). One last thing--the funniest thing I brought up to my family is that we were voted 9th in ACC in the pre-season poll. 9th!!!! I know that the ACC is tough and loaded and all that, but the Cuse sure ain't finishing 9th!

My guess... We win tomorrow and we sneak into the top 15. Lose and its others receiving votes.

I think there's a good chance we win tomorrow. The team is playing very well and flying high on adrenaline. My concern is after the Boehamas we may come out flat against Wisconsin. But maybe not. This team is playing with a lot of confidence. TL is terrific!

I think Georgetown is the one that will get away. Wisky is not good this year. GTown looks good, even though they've lost three and we're playing at their place.

I don't think we would be ranked, but we may be. Going 1-1 against solid teams might not make us jump over enough teams. At the same time probably quite a few eyeballs on us today.

top 25 all teams are unbeaten except
# 22 LSU falls out at 3-2
#20 Witchita st falls out 2-2 (I heard one annoucer say he thought they were going to win it all)
#18 Uconn depends if they win towmorrow
#17 ND is 3-1 has to play the loser of dayton/iowa towmorrow
#16 purdue is 5-0 and plays lehigh sat.
#14 cal is 4-0 playing sdsu towmorrow
#13 Indiana has 2 losses.
#10 Zags depends if they win towmorrow.

Depends if anyone else should sneak in, but it looks like LSU Witchita Indiana loosing 2 will knock them out. uconn and gonzaga could knock each other out, nd could have two losses towmorrow.
Texas A+M is sitting at 25 not 12 or 13, so it makes it tougher.

I would think even with a loss to A+M they could move up and we could slide in.

We don't play wisconsin till Wed plenty of time to get rest and wisky has 2 losses and plays #7 oklahoma on Sun

Not to be a party pooper but if they lose tomorrow, I don't think they will be ranked. If they win, then around 20 or so. I don't see them vaulting that much that quickly. I'd love to be wrong though.

I'll temper the excitement a tiny bit and say that Kenpom doesn't like our 5-0 record all that much. We are 49th in Offensive Efficiency and 27th on D. I thought our numbers would look a little better, or even a lot better. This is a bit concerning.

Boeheim sounded impressed/concerned about A&M. Either way, I'm not too worried about ranking. Syracuse is still facing a ridiculously difficult conference schedule and have some significant weaknesses. Enjoy today's great win.

Let's Go Orange!!!

I can't quite wrap my mind around the difference between the Dome team and the Boeheimas team. The stakes of the tournament and the advanced competition has really jacked them to a new level. We saw their potential for offense in the exhibition games; then it just withered and many of us thought, "Uh oh." I did.

It has been fantastic to watch them learn how to play together and how they cheer each other on! What about Coleman standing on the sidelines flapping his arms almost the entire game? Reminds me of another Coleman.

When I watched the rerun, there were stretches where we played really good defense. The way they ran down the floor to get into the 2-3 and how the front three would hold their arms out and move their feet . . . it was impressive!

This tournament has been vital for their mental discipline. They have now seen how they can play and my hope is that when we hit the ACC, they will remember and be fearless.

Win today we will sneak into the 20's.
Lose today we will receive votes.

No matter Battle 4 Atlantis has been a success.
A&M and Vandy are competing for 2nd best SEC team.

Our offense yesterday was outstanding. If we score in the 70's today I think we will win.

I care more about how we are playing than our ranking. If we're not ranked but playing like a ranked team than that's okay with me. I kind of like sneaking up on people.

We do not currently have a single vote in any poll. It is most unusual to jump from zero votes to ranked in one week.

Love the emotion of this team! The swag when they hit threes, the cheering for each other and the primal screams after And1's.

We may not have much depth yet but you'd be hard pressed to find too many better lineups in the country than our main 5. As long as they can get some stops and gang rebound, they are a menace on offense and yesterday we saw the added dimension of slashing and offensive rebounding.

Ageeed. If we lose dont think we make it. Win and its a lock.

Yes, but easier to see this type of mobility in the polls earlier in the season when voters can admit to being wrong about their preseason judgement. In February when a team has a resume and identity, it may take more than a couple top-25 wins in one week if there had been a few What losses along the way coupled with a mediocre record.

It is also November, the rankings are much more volatile early in the year. Some good wins absent a bad loss will get you noticed quickly at this point in the season.

It is difficult - but the name on the jerseys reads Syracuse and that alone will have us ranked - nice to just win though
