Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: NCAA Tournament Looms
The top five remain the same in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll in Week 12, the final week of the poll until after the championship.
Syracuse is the No. 1 team in the country — though the No. 2 in the NCAA Tournament bracket — followed by Notre Dame, Denver, North Carolina and Duke.
Albany inches up a spot to No. 6 after claiming the America East tournament championship; Johns Hopkins rises to No. 13 after its Big Ten title.
The highest ranked team not selected for the NCAA Tournament is Georgetown, at No. 14, followed by Princeton at No. 16. Their cases were detailed in the Snubs and Surprises post from Selection Sunday.
Marist enters the poll for the first time this year at No. 19, tied with Army. NCAA play-in game participants Bryant and High Point are receiving votes in the poll.
