Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: Big Week For Ivy League Shakes up Top 5
The Cascade/Maverik Media Poll for Week 4 has been released.
There's some new blood — and thin margins between teams — in the Top 5 of this week's poll.
The thing that's certain: Notre Dame and Denver remain Nos. 1 and 2, with a collision course set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU. Syracuse retains its No. 3 ranking after taking care of Virginia on Friday night.
The next tier is full of undefeated teams — three Ivies and one CAA. Yale is No. 4 after dispatching Bryant. Tied at 5 are Brown (3-0) and Towson (5-0). The Tigers had a two-win week, topping local rivals Loyola and UMBC.
Just behind them is Harvard, which put up a dominant win against Duke.
Maryland dropped to No. 11, and Virginia dropped to No. 17. The big risers in the poll are Rutgers (up to 16 from 19) and Villanova (up to 12 from 15).
