Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: Stony Brook Rising

The Seawolves have made quite a leap in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll for Week 8.

Stony Brook rises to No. 14 from No. 20 after topping Princeton on Saturday.

At the top, the usual suspects remain. Notre Dame is No. 1 after dispatching Duke on ESPNU; Syracuse is No. 2 after a Thursday night win vs. Albany; Maryland, North Carolina and Denver follow in the top five after league wins.

Virginia follows at No. 6 following a loss, and Yale and Duke are tied in the seventh spot.

Johns Hopkins falls out of the Top 20 this week, as does Navy. Entering the poll are Fairfield and Harvard, a winner over Cornell in Ivy League play.

USILA DI Coaches' Poll: Stony Brook, Fairfield Enter Rankings

There's little change atop the rankings, with the top seven teams remaining firm in their spots in the USILA DI Coaches' Poll.

Notre Dame is No. 1 receving all but one first-place vote — No. 3 Maryland has the other — and Duke remains in the No. 7 spot despite its loss. Yale rises two spots to enter the top 10, and Ohio State inches up to No. 11.

Stony Brook, winner against Princeton, is at No. 18, while Fairfield takes the No. 20 spot.

Just like the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll, Johns Hopkins is out of the Top 20.

Nike/LM Rankings: Steady at the Top (LaxMag)

The top four teams-- Notre Dame, Syracuse, Maryland and North Carolina -- remain identical in name and order as last week, but there are plenty of changes beyond. Seven top-20 teams suffered losses, causing movement all over the rankings.

The Nike/LM Top 20 will be updated each Monday throughout the season and is determined by the staff of Lacrosse Magazine.
