He punched the ball out from Xavier Restrepo, forcing a fumble, which he recovered and housed 56 yards for the score. He also made seven tackles in the win. Grant's fumble return gave Syracuse a 35-28 lead in the waning moments of the third quarter. The Orange would not trail again, winning 42-38 in their first win over an AP Top-10 team since 2017.
