I dont think ive ever seen a bench collectively yell out "nooooooooooooooooooo" as 1 of their players is about to take a shot. The bench reaction as melo is about to shoot is hysterical. Even the walk ons at the end of the bench are screaming for him to pass it. I think it was resavy with the classic hands on his head "i cant believe hes about to take this shot" pose.

that was just terrible. I loved when MCW got on his case.

I love his energy but he did make some interesting decisions yesterday, that jumper and the foul near the end of the game along with an almost foul as well.

I was at Kitty Hoynes watching the game and when he started to take the shot literally every person in the bar (probably 50 people) all yelled "NOOO" at the same time. I was waing for the classic...NOO---YES but it didnt happen.

MCW said he wasn't getting on him, he was actually trying to tell him to move onto the next play. Dion got on him though.

Brazilian Brain Fart. He made up for it the next trip down the floor.

Not a smart shot to take, but I'm also glad he has the confidence to make that shot. He can and will make more of those the rest of the way. Timing was just poor. I hope he takes atleast one tonight. Melo had a huge turnaround J off the glass in the second half yesterday, don't forget.

I thought it was kinda funny... Melo got pissed and started barking back at Dion at the time out... I think everyone collectively getting on him about it almost immediately pissed him off... I think I like him playing pissed off...

It was almost as bad as Scoop's running hook shot.

Melo's reaction afterwards showed me that he is not ready for the NBA.

I disagree, I think his being pissed off negatively impacted his play. He seemed to want to make up for it too much. He was way too aggressive on the defensive end, given the game situation. His foul on the layup was another blunder. I think JB didn't want to take him out because he wanted to give Fab some learning experience. And I think there will be a lot to talk about after that fiasco.

I think it's more than that... he needs to be able to hit shots like that in the NBA with some relative consistency... to be more than a defensive roll player/limited minutes guy...

The fact that no one on the team wants him taking those shots means he's nowhere close to having any consistency with his mid-range shooting game.

I think the team reaction was simple... "Ok, we turned a blind eye on these mid-season and you hit a few, but this is tourney time and you taking those shots is a clear liability in one-and-done tournaments."

I actually like seeing the team self-police... shows some leadership and common-purpose... which is exactly the kind of thing UCONN doesn't have - and why we beat them 3 times and they have 12 losses...

I don't think it's the team not wanting Fab to take those shots but when to take it and no one should have taken that shot from that spot on the team at that particular point of the game.

I can safely assume that you have never watched the Atlanta Hawks play?

Being at phillips arena, it is amazing to see and hear a collective no from the entire arena every time josh smith jacks up a 3.

I would honestly compare it to the O that cuse fans yell during the national anthem.

.

umm...

I think the reaction was because Fabricio took an 18 foot jump shot late in the game with a small lead off of an offensive rebound when 3 players were literally already set up in the zone on the other side of the court and the 4th player was outside of the 3 point line and there was 33 seconds left on the shot clock.

the bench would have had the same reaction if Ray Allen was shooting it.

I have no problem with Melo taking those shots, it was just the timing of the shot. Time to pull it out and run the offense. People forget, because he didn't grow up playing the sport, he doesn't have the ball IQ that kids have that have come through years of playing AAU ball.

If he had made it (and it is certainly within his comfort zone), we'd all be gushing what a clutch shot it was.
It was obviously an ill-timed shot, but sometimes in the heat of competition, when the adrenaline is surging and a player is "feeling it", they let their hearts rule instead of their heads.
Let's remember that Fab is a Soph, and I think it's safe to say he learned a valuable lesson. Thankfully it didn't cost us.

You just can't have that thin of skin and get upset at teammates so easily if you are to play in the NBA. He would get eaten alive by the real pros.

It's better that he pulled that bonehead move now. The message that the team sent was likely heard loud and clear and will ensure that he doesn't do it at some critical juncture down the road.

Funniest reaction on that shot was Triche. He is visible on the screen to the left (behind fab). He is just frozen in the "catch the ball" pose almost like Fab intercepted the pass intended for him. He just stays there, like a statue eternally awaiting the pass from Fab.

I suppose Triche, who was closest, could have pulled a Jackie Moon and tried to block the shot!

Prince would have buried that shot.
