Hoyos set a new Moakley Course record in the 5-mile race at Cornell, when he won the event by a full eight seconds. Hoyos ran the course 24:48.50 in the team's final regular season meet.

Peck finished second overall at the John Reif Memorial, completing the 5k race in 17:52.50.

The Atlantic Coast Conference kicks off the 2014 Fall Championship schedule on Friday, October 31, with the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships held at the Panorama Farms Cross Country Course in Charlottesville, Va. The women’s 6k race will start at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s 8k competition at 10:45 a.m.

The women’s race features six ranked teams with Florida State leading the way as the nation’s 12th-ranked team. The Seminoles are followed by Virginia at No. 13, North Carolina 15th, Syracuse 16th, NC State 18th and Boston College 30th.

On the men’s side, Syracuse enters Friday’s competition as the highest ranked ACC team in the weekly USTFCCCA poll at No. 3 nationally. North Carolina is 13th, Florida State 15th and North Carolina 28th.

Led by Colleen Quigley’s second place finish, the Seminoles placed all five runners among the top 20 en route to capturing their sixth-straight ACC title a year ago with a 13-point victory over second-place Virginia (52-to-65). Syracuse (108) was third, followed by Notre Dame (124) and Duke (130).

Duke’s Juliet Bottorff won the women’s individual title, finishing the 6k course in 20:05.9 to hold off Florida State’s Colleen Quigley, who came across eight seconds later in 20:13.9. Bottorff was the first Duke runner to win the individual crown since Sally Meryerhoff and Shannon Rowbury won consecutive titles in 2004 and 2005.

On the men’s side, Syracuse, in its first-ever ACC Championship took home the team title, while NC State’s Andrew Colley won the individual title, giving the Wolfpack two individual champions in the past three years.

Led by sophomore Martin Hehir’s third place finish, and three runners in the top 15, the Orange scored 64 team points to out-distance second-place North Carolina, which finished with 84 points.

Colley ran away with the individual title, finishing the 8k course in 23:37.9, which was nearly 25 seconds ahead of second-place finisher junior Thomas Curtin of Virginia Tech who finished in 24:02.2. Syracuse’s Hehir paced the team champions with a time of 24:05.5 for third place.

Waiting anxiously for the link to be up... And now I'm getting an internal authorization error.
