Just wanted to say how well your team played and how great of a coach Dino Babers is. I totally think he is going to bring Syracuse back up(I hope he doesn't leave!!) Dungey is a warrior man and he is gonna really take the Cuse to good things next year. All the fans I met at the game were great and I hope everyone was nice to you guys for those of you that went to the game.

Thanks for the kind words. The Canes were impressive. Good luck to them the rest of the way.

It was great to play Miami again. I hope a change is made soon and we get a chance to play more than every 7 years.

The worst thing about the ACC is the screwed up scheduling between divisions. Get the teams playing each other more often and the league (and the rivalries) will get even stronger.

This is something I would have said in 2013, but not sure now. They finally have a good coach and it shows. That was the most physical game I've seen SU play in awhile. And Miami is just going to get better.

Not sure they'll see it all thru this year, but next few years, upside is off the charts.

Hoping in next few years we can aquire ur depth also. Top notch athletes as backups and we dont have tht yet.

I hope they lose the bling necklace thing. That seems so crass. More of a locker room thing than right on the field. But I'm an old fart, so there's that.

A significant minority of the Miami fan base is crass...I saw plenty of them wearing replicas of that hideous thing around the stadium/tailgate lots.

I don't really understand criticism of the turnover chain. Is it any more crass than the giant golden boxing gloves that SU uses?

yeah he didn't like me too much when he was drunk muttering behind me. I put him in his place pretty quickly.

Think you guys were the best team I've seen play this year, and the upside is even higher when you get on decent turf. Good luck

Yeah he then tried to engage another Syracuse fan...basically challenged him to do something about it. I overheard this...turned to him. Was about to tell him to leave...and he suddenly and smartly decided to walk out. Certainly wasn't me...but maybe he saw OrangeJet and his son right behind me...:rolling:

I've never seen the SU boxing gloves. Leads me to believe it's done in the locker room for the players? Yes? Doing the bling thing on the field looks staged for TV... and of course TV is only too happy to accommodate. It's showy. It's braggadocious. It's over the top. But as I said, I'm an old fart, so I'm not really relative to the intent. But if my team did that, like that, I would be embarrassed for my school.

i get the rain issues but you play in miami. how about dealing long term with the slippery sod you call turf ?

I’ve been to every home game this year and sit a few rows above the SU bench and never saw this. Was this a one time thing or am I just missing things right in front of me, looking somewhere else?
They were awarded to Alton Robinson for a sack and unrecovered fumble in the Pitt game, and for Chris Slayton for his sack that knocked Bryant out of the game. Not sure if they have been awarded since.

So really, they're Great Defensive Play Gloves, not Turnover Gloves.

They do it right on the sideline? Never even noticed, I must be blind. Seems harsh to have a public display after knocking an opponent out of the game regardless whether it’s a great hit.

Dotard...
I actually had to look this word up.

do·tard
ˈdōdərd/
noun
  1. an old person, especially one who has become weak or senile.

    Well then...

Man I wish I was there for this. I would've "politely sat him down" haha

The boxing gloves, turnover chain, are pathetic and unsportsman like IMO. Maybe they are being directed by marketing, but I can't see a football coach directing it. Very poor taste.

In my town, the high school football team is often blowing out the other team by the half. When they get into the 3rd and 4th stringers, the sideline genuinely starts going nuts, cheering on their mates... If they're still going against, and beating the others 1st team? (not as big a deal if it's back up on backup) It's demoralizing for the other team, so they have to shut up - or they are running. They often choose running. Although they mean well, character demands they respect, even the most inferior opponent.

Boxing gloves, chains? Good grief. It compounds poor charcter, by flaunting it. Horrible idea.
