Could not make the game - illness and too cold. My buddy who missed her first football game this year since 1997 not because of sickness or other commitments but because she couldn’t bear to watch the ****show the home finale would be, also passed on this game. A game she had been looking forward to for months. Fact of the matter is, the talent level is not the problem, the lack of coaching is. Red may be a great recruiter, may be a great guy and at times has had the team playing at a high level defensively, but he can’t coach offense, can’t make half time game plan changes and can’t manage rotations. I truly thought we had turned the corner at the Vegas tournament but now the team no longer cares. We had a brief uptick with Donnie but now we are steadily regressing. We have no offensive game plan other than have someone score. So we get hero ball, people standing around like statues and no outline of an offense for George to execute. This is why George is a mere shadow of what he was at Georgia Tech. He can’t create on his own, only execute the game plan. Hard to do when there is no game plan. Dion Waiters would have loved it 😍 but not many college point guards have creativity of Dion. I say get rid of him now and see what the players can do with different coaching. And it has to be an outsider now with a fresh approach, though I hope one day 10 or more years from now Gerry is our coach. I will always believe they should have hired Gerry instead of Red. Reds team is 12-8, 11th in the conference, losing record in conference play, on a 3 game losing streak. Siena in its second year with Gerry is 14-7, 4th in their conference with a 7-3 record and just beat the former 3rd place team by 19. Now I know we are comparing apples with oranges but SU has lots of talent, Siena only has Doty who Red passed on. Red took over a team with a winning record, Gerry took over a team that only won 4 games. Big fail, if they needed to hire a legacy coach to appease Boeheim, they picked the wrong one.
