Here in Minnesota, there have always been rumors Malone will be the next Timberwolves coach whenever they make a coaching change due to Malone’s previous relationship with their team president/GM.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Malone coached at NC for a few seasons before leaving for a NBA job and NC won’t be on the hook for the full contract.
