Mickey Mantle's striking out

I don't see why any current team member should be compelled to offer financial support. The restaurant has Mickey Mantle's name on it, but as the article points out; Mantle only had about a 7% stake in it. It is just a restaurant and obviously an unsuccessful one. I guess it is a shame, but I don't see it as a slap in the face to Mantle.

I wouldn't say they were compelled to, either. I still think it's sad their agents laughed at the suggestion. And Mantle was clearly associated with the restaurant, (which at one time was a great success), regardless of how much of it he owned. it sounds like the problems were more with the landlord than the public.
