Listened to him preview the Syracuse/OSU game and he said one thing that I completely agreed with.
"Syracuse has done what they needed to do, they got to the Elite 8. If you're a top team, you should make it to the Elite 8, after that you are playing a team that is pretty equal to you and its basically a coin flip. Bad calls, off shooting, other team gets hott. Anything can happen in the one and done format and for a top program you've done what you needed to do when you make it to the Elite 8, then just let the chips fall where they may."
This is a great quote and very true. We didnt play particularly well. We missed about 6 layups and just could not get the lead when we had numerous chances late in the game, however we were still in it and the refs decided they wanted OSU to move on. In a one and done format we beat the teams we were supposed to beat. All the teams in the Elite 8 are damn good teams and if you get one cold shooting game or a game where the refs get off by blowing the whistle well then its curtains.
Next year we have a chance to be even better and this team will go down as one of my favorite teams ever. They played with heart and grit all season. They didnt deserve to go out like this.
To the returning players, let this motivate you next year.
