Really knows how to endear himself to SU fans. Express your opinion that Cuse could be blown off the field and that there is no way they get 35,000 in the stands.
Way to set the tempo for an exciting season Mike.

I listen to Syracuse sports radio on the web from time to time. Axe is ok...others are dreadful. I've heard this guy prob twice...just grim..there's a reason he's stuck in a small market. The good ones (Parkins/Schine) leave. He's trying to do contrarian sports talk guy shtick (Cowherd-esque) except he doesn't understand he's not on national radio.

And now he and his dbag partner are trashing Springsteen. Wow.

It's called pandering to your audience. He reads the comments section of Syracuse dot com. That's his audience.

OK - I have no idea who you are talking about, but no one trashes a 62 year old rock legend that is about to to give Central New York the best 3 and a half hours (or more) it's seen since April of 2003.

I just don't know how 1260 can stay afloat with their current lineup. I mean Axe is meh....I can deal with him. Bud & the Manchild is just two guys bickering at each other. Thing is that I could actually listen to these two shows.

But Lindsley...Lindsley takes the cake. He is bar none the all time worst radio personality (let alone sports host) that I have ever heard. The only sport he is knowledgable is baseball, so he talks about it incessantly. When he's forced to talk SU sports, he spends the entire time bashing the program.

I stopped listening to 1260 last football season. He is the sole reason why I won't listen to 1260 any longer.

Since it's opening week, I try to stream 1260 a bit. But content aside, that guy couldn't be more uninteresting. I make it through about 30 seconds, then have to go elsewhere.

Yes, the content is awful too, but I think that just plays into whole package. I need to attend one of the meetings where this guy is selling himself to advertisers (as I recall, someone once said that's what keeps him on the air).

When i have opportunity to listen to the local radio, I listen to "Upon Further Review" on 97.7. At least these guys are interesting and talk SU. I moved on from Axe and 1260 a long time ago. I got sick of whiz-bangs, Perry Noun, B2 Mike and Bills talk. I've only listened to Lindsley a few times, but can't handle it more than one segment. It's too stream of consciousness for me. It's like ADD with commercials.

Yup. LemoyneCuse can chime in on this too, but Lindsley is a bulldog salesman, very good at selling advertising, and thats why he got the gig when Parkins left. I've seen him drunk on the town a couple times and both times he told me he thinks Syracuse is a dump.

He brings a whole new meaning to "has a face for radio" I sometimes refrain from making fun of him because I truly think he may be disabled.

Unfortunately for Lindsley, that audience purportedly lives in Florida.

I made the mistake of turning on 1260 on Monday on my way home from work, jesus what a nightmare. I used to like Axe but the guy is clueless first hes saying we should all suppor the USC game being moved to the meadowlands because were getting 5 million dollars ( sure we are) and then his dopey sidekick chimes in that SU attendance is bad and that he has seen some of the worst crowds of his life for SU games including our game versus Pitt last year where there was 12,000 in the stands for kickoff (this despite the fact we didnt play Pitt at home last year). I listen to Axe or any of them if they have an intereview with someone or a team were about to play other then that these guys are BAD.

Ahahaha. This guy's still around?

Was driving through last September and heard him as a guest on an Ithaca station, saying the ACC move was horrible and only done for Gross' ego. What

He is an absolute ass clown that knows NOTHING about sports, and is a typical angry local guy who hates on our area but doesnt have the balls to leave.. Its morons like him that make locals look bad and are a cancer to central new york.

We'll need you down here in DC on Sept 14 to set up your tailgate on your tailgate. ;)

Enjoy the show, wish it wasn't in the middle of the week...

Now that's funny! Great place to go for laughs (and an occasional rare tidbit of information). Used to spend all my time there until I found out about this board. Still, syrdotcom meets my need for when I feel the need to go slumming or to satisfy a guilty pleasure--like eating a deep fried Oreo or something like that. Some good people there, but I get the feeling they don't know about this board.

He's an idiot.

A few months ago, he interviewed someone who was an expert on blood clots and the associated risk to athletes. The expert was articulate and knowledgeable.

At the conclusion of the segment, ML, who could not have paying much attention to what was said and/or really is an idiot, concluded: "correct if me if I am wrong, but couldn't this kind of thing be completely prevented by proper stretching?"

Let's not forget he loves to talk up his Bonnies! Like anyone gives a about That school.

Yeah, Lindsley was in the right place at the right time. There were a couple of good talk guys hanging around the station, but they weren't done with college yet. The powers that be weren't cool with that and gave the slot to Lindsley. And continue to regret it.
