Just imagine if Pitt did that to them and not #19 Texas ...
It looks like a high school game where one team is way stronger and just runs the ball over the top of their opponent all game long. 18 times in a row and they can't stop it at all. After Clemson did the same thing the week before. If they could have at least stopped that 3rd down in OT for the touchdown and made them take a field goal, but nope he gets in by a half a foot. I can tell you one thing. People around the country are watching Babers and what he is going to do, and if he doesn't take any effective counter measures, his stock is going to drop through the floor. In fairness Pitts offense only scored 30. In the college game, that isn’t a ton of points.
Coaches have two weeks to figure out how to stop the run. If we get curbstomped to end the season the way wake, Louisville, and bc beAt us last year, it may be time to find more than just a defensive coordinator.

3 years of some of the worst defensive failures ever at Syracuse or any other team and you call people names because some people expect the person in charge to bear responsibility for it? That's too long to not be able to field at least a halfway capable defense. Then they would still be morons for scapegoating and firing the guy like a bunch of jackasses on a Syracuse forum

They can not stop 1 running play. Not 1.Not even close to the epic beat downs shafer received. Want me to post some of those doozies?
Ok... but Oklahoma has five-stars evaluating film on D let alone the talent recruited there.

It's not just the points the d gave up. They allowed the other team to posses the ball and keep it away from our offense and limit their offensive opportunities. You know, meat head football. Every problem is on the offense, when can we expect a defense that could win a game for the team? Our D gave up 30 pts in regulation on the road to an ultra desperate team and all of a sudden we suck. we gave up 27 the week before to Clemson and that was apparently garbage too. the same posters who are destroying our D and DC are destroying our offense for only scoring 37, because in this day and age 37 points isn't a big deal. yet giving up 30 and 27 the last two weeks means we are hot garbage. I am well aware of how bad the run D has been the last two weeks in particular. we replaced all of our LBs with inexperienced players and there is just shock and outrage because they are struggling. With the pace of our offense the D is never going to be fantastic, but it has clearly improved over the three years Ward has been here. you don't fire the guy midseason either. unless it's a George McDonald type dumpster fire of bad/behind the scenes strife, that is.

How many yards rushing did they give up in those 2 games? And I'm talking about the second half, when it mattered. I wouldn't think I would have to stipulate things like that in an honest assessment.Lol. They did that multiple times in the Pitt and Clemson games.
Losses do weird things to people’s brains

Another gotcha guy defending 570 yards of rushing in 2 games. Playing a triple option once in a blue moon is just about impossible to teach a defense the finer points of what they do and how you stop it. Look what they just did to Louisville. You can't be serious comparing that to a standard offense. How did Shafers defense do against Georgia Tech's running game?
Keep defending this lame MAC defense. Of course I'm talking about AD's and other professional decision makers.Ok, first of all, we were playing Clemson's run pretty well up until the 4th quarter, when it was clear that the defense was gassed because our offense picked up a measly 3 first downs in the second half. I chalk up Saturday to a conference road game for a team who really needed a bye week. A lot of people think that because these are young men that they can hit the refresh button after each game and be physically 100% each week. Clemson is really big and really strong and they hit hard. Pitt played extremely hard and worked our guys after the whistle throughout the game (not cheap shots, but extra physicality). Even 20 year old bodies accumulate damage that impacts performance.
Second, you can't tell me that "people all over the country are watching Babers and what he is going to do" because that's silly, unless you are viewing this forum as "people all over the country", so I assume you are referring to football "experts" and ADs at a couple of potential landing spots for Babers if he were to leave SU. Those people will not be viewing his record from an emotional standpoint like posters on this forum. They will also look at his whole body of work. When you are detached from the situation, it's easier to be objective in your appraisal.
Let's see how we perform against UNC after a well-deserved break to heal up and re-energize before we write off the season and call for coaches' heads.
I don't know if you read my entire post. At the bottom, I said let's see how we perform after the bye before making judgments. If you want to see that as defending things, that's on you.Keep defending this lame MAC defense. Of course I'm talking about AD's and other professional decision makers.
