Syracuse won the natty 19 years ago. It seems like yesterday. However, the span between 1987 heartbreak and 2003 natty was 16 years. For some reason, that is really messing me up, that there was more time between our natty and now than between 1987 and 2003. Anyone else feel the same way?

Or does my math just suck?

No I agree with you. In my head it seems like a longer period between 1987 and 2003. Of course, I went into a deep and dark hole after 1987 and that combined with intense therapy made those years seem longer.

Why couldn’t DC make that front end of the one and one? Why did Smart need to hit that jumper when so many similar shots rim out? Why didn’t we bury the Hoosiers when we had the lead? Why did my depression after that game last so long?

Time accelerates as we age. There’s nothing more to it.
