A better title would have been Shafer has an early goal for 2014: More wins.

That tells me SS is expecting a pretty good season. That's a good sign. I don't think he would put a number on wins, if he didn't think they were going to be that good. This isn't a rebuilding year in his eyes as far as getting a lot of W's is concerned. I'm glad to hear it. Its refreshing the more I think about it. 8 wins, Yes Sir.

There are some tough games in the mix this Fall. 8 wins would be fantastic. Of course, they're typically not the wins you'd always expect.

LOL, I remember Greg Robinson saying that he thought we would get 8 wins once. I believe it was in his first season as the coach. We ended up with only one win his first season. Of course he was such a bad coach that maybe he meant we would get a total of 8 wins altogether during his first 3 years. If thats the case, he was right.

I think we only had 7 through 3 years:

1-11
4-8
2-10.

Amazing how long ago that feels. Also have realized that in his four years on campus we didn't win a game in the tournament. As soon as he was gone we went to the sweet 16.

That's right, both the record for the football team, and the fact that the hoops team had zero tourney wins. Back to back NITs. It's a miracle the lacrosse team didn't go winless while GROB was in town. How on earth the guy even made it to year 4 is beyond me. Beyond the fact that the athletic department was broke and didn't want to buy him out earlier, that is.
