Minor roster updates

-Walk-on kicker Alex Hodgkinson from London is now listed

What the hell, a rugby ball is close enough in shape to a football anyway. Seems like the biggest transition for him will be trying to kick with pads and helmet on. I think the NCAA will frown on the idea of playing in a rugby uniform.

Interesting side not is that AAM is still listed on the roster. I thought I read a post on the board that strongly implied that he was leaving for another program in hopes of gaining more playing time. I hope not--coaches just need to find a way to get that kid's power into a game.

Wait, did I catch that right? We have a kicker from the UK?

They've also listed Foy at OG. Not sure if this means there will be a new RT this season or if this is how he was listed last year. From the looks of heights and weights listed, my guess is they used last year's information for many of the returnees.

A couple other things that stand out.

John Miller is listed as a Jr. He must have used a RS season last year

Kendall Moore is listed as OL. The inevitable move to OT looks to have come to fruition

Moore has always been listed as an OL even while playing tight end and wearing an eligible number.

Miller played 2011 and 2012 at a JUCO, and he played in at least 4 games last year.

He was "3 to play 2" when he came here.

Not sure why SU had him listed as a Soph last season, and a Junior now.

No problem, as long as he's wirey. Just get someone to hold the ball and he'll kick the bloody piss out of it.

Fine and dandy ...as long as it goes through the uprights!

Question... Is Burton really a Soph? Did he see time in mop up or specials last year? The rest of the grades look accurate which makes me beleive he must have...

Not sure he saw the field last year. There's nothing on his SU profile page.

if he played then he would be a SR with a chance to RS not a junior.

Syracuse had John Miller listed as a Sophomore last year because he was redshirting, that's how they do it on the roster page as far as class is concerned. You're either a RF or a Frosh, and from that point you move to Soph, Jr, Senior. John played at his JC as a true Freshman and Sophomore, came to SU and Redshirted which kept him as a Sophomore. This year he'll be a JR and next year a SR. I suppose he could have been a JR last year and a JR again this year too though.

Not sure why Burton is listed as a Soph, I don't remember him playing last year. I think that's a typo. Pretty sure he should be a RF.

not sure if it indicates this is his last year. all the years were changed. They are not listing the redshirt any more. and I think they are going by academic year like marrone did.

Don't tell me they're going back to that again.

Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in.

Who's playing TE this season? Batten has been moved to LB and Moore is an OT?

That's why you have to keep your own data.
