I know there are a few Charlottean's on the board so I thought I'd post this.
Saturday night I took my two 4 yr olds to a Charlotte Hounds game. My boy is all about football, soccer and lax. Since, earlier that day, I had a father daughter tea party in the neighborhood with my daughter we figured the lax game would be a good compliment for my son.
Tix are cheap! $10 for GA and up to $50 for midfield seats in the low levels with cushions and seat backs. The GA seats are find as there really isn't a bad spot in that stadium. Memorial Stadium, easy access off of 277 at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). $5 parking and plenty of food trucks and amenities. The stadium is old and doesn't look the best but it's a solid use. Attendance was solid, and seemed to be about 6,000-7,000. Didn't hurt that Paul Rabil was on the opposing team.
Tons of kids in the stands and overall it was a very pleasant experience. Total cost for the evening with a t-shirt and some snacks was less than $80 with 4 of us having tickets. I will do this again. If you like the game it's a good atmosphere and you can tell many of the fans are transplants getting their lax fix while introducing their kids to the game.
Kevin Drew is still a very solid player!
