SU Football Replaces a Running Workout with Yoga (PS; Carlson)
Syracuse defensive lineman Eric Crume learned this offseason that he's strong enough to hold up 295 pounds with primarily one hand.
Sounds tough. Sounds like a workout. Sounds like ... yoga?
"We've got this side one where you've got the hand in the dirt and the other hand in the air," Crume said. "I know being 295 pounds, it's kind of hard to hold up on one hand especially. That was hard looking at the other guys. It's real. It ain't no fun and games."
Crume's side plank abilities were discovered as part of the newest addition to Syracuse's offseason workout program. It's worked for the Seattle Seahawks and Stanford Cardinal. Syracuse strength coach Will Hicks is hoping yoga works at Syracuse as well.
"Some thought it would be hard," Hicks said. "Some thought it would be easy. I think by the first day they thought it was one of the hardest things they've ever done in their life. We did it in Manley. We're not going to go fancy so we don't have mats."

How Does SU's 2015 Recruiting Class Stack Up with the Rest of the ACC? (PS; Bailey)
The hype surrounding Syracuse's recruiting Class of 2015 seems to be building every day, right in line with the size of the group itself. The Orange is up to 22 pledges after Florida linebacker Doyle Grimes committed on Saturday.
Included in that group are two New Jersey natives rated four stars by 247Sports.com, running back Dontae Strickland and safety Daiquan Kelly, as well as 16 other players rated at least three stars by one of the major recruiting services.
But does a quickly filled class equal a strong class? We decided to take a look at how each service has rated Syracuse's class thus far and their respective team rankings to other Atlantic Coast Conference programs.
