There are like 5-10 BBall programs that will always be there every year because of the money and the prestige of the name.  That was the same even before NIL.  Duke and Kansas haven’t left.  Michigan hit rock bottom and came back in two years.  Syracuse can do the same thing.  Gerry is a young, talented, and highly driven coach.  It’s his locker room, and he doesn’t take shite.  You don’t play D, you’re going to sit.  I prefer to think that this is the turning point for SU.  We had our rock bottom, we’ve just been there for longer than some other named programs.  We have a solid coach and, if the insights here are true (and we know they 99.9999% are), the money to make us competitive again is coming in.  It all comes down to getting the right staffing in place, the right players for whatever system Gerry wants to run, and then getting to work.

There is no reason we can’t be a perennial Top 20 program again.  Winning solves most issues, and we need to do that in spades over the next 2-3 seasons to build the brand back again.

Have faith.  We have resources now and a little bit of Irish luck. 🍀 😉

And the other thing about Gerry.  If he’s successful, he isn’t going anywhere else.  Guaranteed that Schertz or Hodgson would have been here a max of 4-5 years and then off to blue blood city.
