heard King Rice on the radio today, and he mentioned that Monmouth would be playing Syracuse next season.

Had that already been announced?

He said that we're friendly and we will answer the phone when he calls to schedule a game.

He said it was the middle of the road power conference teams that don't want to play him.

I say we play a road game at Monmouth next year (not going to happen, but not the worst idea).

I could have sworn that he said that he has SU, UNC and South Carolina on the schedule next year.

Seems like aiming too high.

Play at nc state, play at Vanderbilt. Go after the kinds of teams that will be on the bubble. They won't win at an improved SU or at unc.

Possibly. He was on ESPN tv this morning and mentioned Syracuse, but didn't state that a game has been scheduled. Could be he was inferring to a game next year. I hope they graduate a bunch of guys this year.

I heard it on the "Pre-Selection" show, just before the brackets were announced. Eh, maybe I misheard

Monmouth will be part of a Barclays Center event next season which gives them games against South Carolina and Syracuse, they also have a trip to North Carolina planned. They return almost their entire roster, other than senior Deon Jones who graduates, and project to be the MAAC favorite, but the question now remains: who will be interested in playing the Hawks?!

Are you sh!tting me?

What a waste of game. Really, Monmouth in NYC?

What happened to leave us with this crap game? At home, ok, I get it. In a seemingly high profile type slot, What?

They can't be playing both SU and SoCar at Barclays if we're playing SoCar at Barclays. That's three nights.

Maybe this is one of those deals where SU gets 3 home games against Monmouth and two other teams, and ends up with SoCar in Brooklyn..

We did something similar in 2012 called the Gotham Classic.

Home games with Canisius, Detroit and Alcorn, and ended up with Temple at MSG.

I just want to know if I'd get a discount for using a Barclay's card?

Are you crapping me? What is your meltdown over? I know most people(including us) will call it a home game. And we know Monmouth is going to be a very good team again next year, but what is your problem? If we win it will be a quality win, and if we don't good for Monmouth. It's clearly the type of quality win they will need.

A little hyperbole in there, but it's still a waste of a game in my opinion. NYC games like that are high profile. It should be a P5 game against a top or mid tier P5 team.

We can get Monmouth at home anytime we want, use the NYC games for big opponents.

From that perspective I can understand your viewpoint. A top mid-major isn't bad either. Monmouth should be around the top again next season.

That won't be at Barclays Center. It will be the same format as the Gotham Classic.

Monmouth will likely host its own subregional when we play with the BIG BOYS at Barclays Center for the real event.

Monmouth will be in the Dome. They'll also play at wherever South Carolina plays. Syracuse and SC will play at Barclays.
