You dont take away reps from your number 1 and 2 guys and slow down the development of the entire offense just to see if your 3rd can jump your 2nd.  That would be insane. Obviously he didnt show enough at the time. When TD was lost, thats when his reps increased. I can tell you straight up, Chance Amie was lighting up the 1st team defense in 2018. It was clear that he was good. Staff was really excited about him.  Ive heard from several people that Amie would have been the starter if he didnt screw up.  Not every freshman QB is the same.  90% of starting QB's are not freshmans.  There's a reason for that. Lets not focus on the 10% because that's far from the norm.  If you going to be critical be critical of the lack of depth to begin the season. Amie was a big loss. They had a transfer in place that didnt fall through. I wish they would have brought another guy in.
