Polk led the nation last season with 33 goals for nearby Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) and was named the NJCAA Region III Player of the Year. "Ben has been a prolific goal-scorer and he has the ability to stretch the opposition's defense with his pace and athleticism," McIntyre said. "He is a dynamic player who we feel can make a quick transition to the demands of soccer in the ACC." Polk scored eight game-winning goals and had four hat tricks in 2014 to lead the Generals to an 18-1-1 record and an appearance in the NJCAA semifinals. In all, he totaled an eye-popping 71 points on 33 goals and five assists last season.
