The Spartans scored twice in the 3rd quarter to make the score 16-14. Even after a 5 yard offsides penalty placed the ball on the 8, Dantonio decided to go for the 2 pt conversion to try to tie it up, which failed miserably.
If they had kicked the XP there, when they scored with 0:19 left, all they would have needed was the XP to win the game in regulation. Lucky for MSU they went on to win it, or that decision would have come back to haunt them. Why do coaches insist on chasing points so early in the game?
