1) First time in a long time that I feel tired/embarrassed of defending this program. Sigh. Yesterday was a hugely missed opportunity.

2) I still think Hunt has the capability to be a solid QB - he is still learning. That said, we need to keep the pedal to the metal on recruiting someone who might be a game-changing QB.

3) Never going to be a consistently good team in this day and age without WRs who can get open down the filed consistently. Still not seeing it. Hope we bring in 10 WRs. Need help.

1) Not tired at all. Been doing it since 1961. All the ups and downs and plenty of both. it wouldn't shock me to see them knock off the Irish next week. We beat Nebraska after being shut out by Rutgers. You shoulda seen that debacle!

2) I haven't given up on Hunt's passing but other than the bomb to West, he was lousy yesterday. Very discouraging.

3) Agree. Big time WR's can literally be game changers. If we have them, it's not among Marrone's recruits.

Receivers were open all day and they caught 14 of the 18 catchable passes thrown to them. Hunt was 4-15 for the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Hunt is a great runner but passing - not so much.

Our receivers are fine and getting better.

I will take your word for it. However, as I compare our games to all the others I see on TV, I consistently see other's have WRs in space ALL THE TIME. Seems to be the nature of the spread offense that is pervasive in college football today. I don't see that from us.

But again, I might be missing a lot on the back end just by watching on TV.

Either way, what I'm seeing isn't cutting it.

This may all be true, but we don't have a Mike Williams-esque threat on the field, period.

Ish and some of the other guys clearly have a lot of potential, but we aren't running out anyone who puts fear into the opposition.

That is true enough but Hunt will gain more yards with his legs than any WR. WR by committee is what we have until somebody separates themselves form the field.

Our QB is not capable of making down the field throws on a regular basis. We have people open but our QB can't hit them. We can't keep making excuse for Hunt. He has been a starter for a year now he has to be able to make throws down the field or we need to move onto a different QB that we can throw the ball down the field. Hunt was terrible yesterday and doesnt show any improvements.

Yes the WR's need to get seperation, but it's also the OC's job to put players in a position or space to create. I'm not sure we have an OC who can create plays that puts a player in space or creates a mismatch.

Seemed like Hunt didn't see a few guys open deep (Custis once, Ishmael another time) that you wouldn't see on TV. He's a great runner, but...
