The big positive for me is that we have four guys who seem to have a solid stroke from trey range.
Lydon and Richardson both looked terrific overall. Howard deserves more run - why only 4 minutes in a game where we were +20 most of the time. He has good vision and hits the boards well for a guard. If KJ doesn't turn it around fast, I think Frank starts to get his minutes.
DC2 showed good mobility, but still has a long ways to go before he becomes any kind of an offensive factor. After he hit the first hoop of the game I thought for sure there would be more to come - NADA !!!!
Tyler R was strong on the glass, but didn't show much touch. I really didn't see any new dimension to his game beyond what he showed last year. I was hoping after the 20 & 16 that he upped his game a level - didn't see that.
Cooney & G both looked very, very good. Can't judge on one game, but I am really hoping that they have stepped it up, particularly Trevor in terms of consistency.
KJ looked really shaky. He shows little confidence. he had several strong penetration drives & then simply did not know what to do with the ball. He may well be the new Shaky Potatoes.
On the flip side. Our interior D, well what interior D ???? We have some shot blockers, but nobody who can man the middle with good fundemental D. Charlotte played no D at all - will we be able to make treys against better D teams ? Probably only some of the time would be my guess.
We committed too many fouls - there will be games where that will kill us.
All in all we have had four games where we didn't totally blow away cupcake opponents. We should have won all four by 20+. Big test against the winner of UConn-Mich. We will see where we are really at after that game.
