property taxes work out to be ~1%. No school taxes.

My parents moved from Syracuse and a 2,000 sq ft house paid almost $7k in taxes to a suburb outside of Atlanta and a 4,000 sq ft house and taxes dipped to $2600.

I have a 2,300 sq ft house, My property taxes were only $1,853 last year. Sales tax is 7%. Georgia does charge an advalorium tax to your vehicle every year when you renew your tag based on the value of your car.
