1. This is basically the exact same position we were in last year going into Stony Brook, and we ended up 8-5 with a bowl game win. Granted the players are different, as are the schedules, but who knows? Win today (and remember we didn't exactly win impressively against SB last year) and take it from there.
2. Re QB I think it's hard to assess unless you go to all the practices and\or talk to the coaches and know exactly what they are thinking. Personally my line of thinking was that it doesn't make much sense to have Allen out there sucking when we can have a younger guy out there sucking with the possibility of improvement. But, another poster had what I think is a pretty astute point - if the coaches already know that Hunt is not the guy for the future (ie one of the frosh or recruits is already better), and they still think Allen gives us a better chance this year, then it makes sense to stay with Allen.
3. I watched another team play on Thursday night. They had a great offense last year, lost a ton of weapons, and now look completely lost on offense. Confusion everywhere, receivers running the wrong routes, drops, etc. And their qb is Tom Brady. It does take time, unfortunately in the college game you don't get time.
4. Floyd gets old tonight - Canelo by late KO.

Oh please let #4 happen... but it never does. Has anyone actually ever hit Mayweather?

Tom Brady ain't walking through that door.

Maybe Gus Frerotte.

Not really - Cotto hit him some but that's about it. My pick is based partly on hope, and partly on the fact that he is 36. Even if it is a fairly 'young' 36 in terms of the amount of punishment he has taken, he still will get old at some point. Happens to them all - Ali, Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard - they all ended their careers on their ass. And Canelo is good, and much bigger. 5 years ago I don't think he lays a hand on Floyd though.

I was thinking the same re: Roy Jones. As soon as someone finally hits him, his career will go down quickly.

I'm guessing you haven't been watching boxing too long, Jose Luis Castillo had plenty of success against mayweather and many people feel that he won their first fight.

I watched both fights but honestly I didn't think he really hit Floyd that much. To me neither of them did a lot in either of those fights. Maybe I'm misremembering but as I recall they were close more because Floyd didn't do much offensively.

I actually think the first fight between the two was Floyd's most entertaining fight, and it was either the tenth or eleventh when Floyd decided to stand in the pocket and trade with Castillo, and both guys were landing some big shots. After that fight I never questioned his chin again.
