Dabo is a really good coach but Dabo, alone, ain't suddenly propelling SU to being on the same level as Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State etc.

To Clemson and the other top programs like Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan etc. and a bunch of wannabes like Texas A&M, it is a priority to have to top-notch football program and they (university & alums) are willing to spend whatever it takes to get there.

Our university does not have the wherewithal to do this and our alums, thankfully, do not prioritize gridiron success above all else.

Depends on the meaning of compete.  Compete with Clemson year-in and year-out?  Fugghedaboutit.  Compete for second place in the Atlantic , if FSU cannot get back to where they were, why not?
